Silk Soymilk Dumps Organics for Chinese Imports
I've been a Soymilk drinker for several years, but I was recently surprised to find that my favorite brand, Silk®, has chosen to deceptively reformulate itself to use inferior products.

Go ahead, read your carton. Where it used to say "Organic" it now says "Natural." As we all know, "Natural" is one of the top weasel words out there, meaning nothing while sounding good. Not only does it no longer contain organic soybeans, it has been completely reformulated to not contain any organics at all.
This is the result of the takeover of the product by Dean Foods. The former company which popularized the brand was called WhiteWave, and they did a good thing. Dean Foods is the country's largest dairy supplier, so it should be no surprise that thier goal is not to continue the WhiteWave tradition, but rather to destroy this competitor through acquisition.
So, sad as it is to say, let Silk die. Buy their competitors brands and build them up instead, you may have to visit the health food stores to find them though. Or, if you can tolerate regular milk, you could try buying a nice non-homogenized local milk, like I do from a local farm like these great folks.
