Headed for Galveston

By Matt - Posted on 15 May 2009

Joanna and I, along with a few friends, are headed to the oceanside in Galveston Texas for a little week long vacation.

From the online review sites it appears there's not a whole lot to do there, and they describe a fairly depressed and filthy place.  But there's a beach evidently, so that should keep Joanna happy.  We'll hope that it's not as bad as they say, and I bet we can find a few things to do to amuse ourselves.  I'll see if I can update this with some news as the week goes on, maybe a few photos too.

Update:

Galveston was in rough shape, yes, but we found plenty of things to do.  We rode the ferry and saw dolphins, went into Houston and visited the museums, and spent a lot of time on the beach getting sunburnt.  All of which were free admission by the way.  The restaurant scene was not too bad, nothing to write home about though.
